Danity Kane To Appear On Making The Band FinaleAs expected with such shows, Making The Band 4 has saved the best for the last; the press release we have received about the season's finale has stated that the all five of the original members of Danity Kane will be present. Check it out below, as well as info on Day26 and Donnie:
MTV GIVES CLOSURE TO FANS WITH 'MAKING THE BAND 4: THE FINAL CHAPTER'
A two-part SEASON FINALE EVENT BEGINS THURSDAY, APRIL 16th AT 9PM ET/PT AND CONTINUES APRIL 23rd 9PM ET/PT

Special Appearances By Sean 'Diddy' Combs, Day26, Donnie Klang and Danity Kane Share the Same Stage for the First Time Since Their Break-Up

New York – April 14, 2009 – MTV will air a two-part season finale of hit series "Making the Band 4" beginning Thursday, April 16th at 9pm ET/PT and ending with special event "Making the Band 4: The Final Chapter" to air Thursday, April 23rd at 9pm ET/PT. In part one, viewers will watch as Dawn and Andrea find out if they will continue their career as Bad Boy artists, when Sean 'Diddy' Combs reveals the fate of Danity Kane. Day26 is faced with the dilemma of moving forward even if it means that they will do so without their band mate Q. The drama culminates on April 23rd as MTV Correspondent Sway Calloway hosts part two: a special finale event. Day26 will also perform songs from their sophomore album.

The finale event will event will give viewers a chance to reflect on the most talked about moments from this season -- from the separation of Danity Kane to tumultuous road taken by Day26 to complete their new album. Viewers will also watch as members of Danity Kane come together for the first time since their separation to speak directly to their fans. Donnie Klang will update fans with details about the next stage of his career.
This ought to be real, real interesting. While I'm completely thrown as to what is currently the genuine 'reality of Danity Kane' (good PR spin by all involved), I'm definitely hoping the ladies patch things up, if only just for the sake of their fans. That said, the wording of the press release has me thinking Dawn and Aundrea may be in line for their own Bad Boy solo careers. Whatever the case, it's all speculation at the moment. Roll on the finale(s)...

Peep the trailer for the latest season of Making The Band 4. After the drama which saw two members of Danity Kane axed, Day26's so-so success and Donnie's complete and utter tanking, this season sure ought to be interesting. The trailer definitely has me anticipating what's to come. The season premiere will be February 12th on MTV (US).

Randomness: Did anyone else notice that Shannon was nowhere to be seen?

While promoting his debut album 'Just A Rolling Stone' (did anyone else NOT know it was out?! LOL) on Rock Me TV, Donnie decided to air out Danity Kane's Aubrey. I won't ruin it, however I doubt Aubrey will be pleased to hear his comments. SMH:

You'd think Donnie would have more sense than to trash his co-star and 'expose' the behind the scenes aspect of a show he is still starring in with the very same Aubrey. Then again, I guess these are the type of stunts pulled when your album sells a pathetic 20, 000 copies - as Donnie's did. Any publicity is good publicity, ey?

Bad Boy signee Donnie Klang debuted the video for his first single 'Take You There (ft. Diddy)' on FN'MTV last night. The slickly produced video looks pretty good, however I'm still not sold on Donnie and the direction they seem to be going with him. Contrived and 'Justin Timberlake re-hash' come to mind when listening to this.

Donnie's album 'Just A Rolling Stone' hits stores September 2nd.

What do you think of the video?

Check out the official trailer (albeit crappy quality) for the upcoming season of Making The Band 4 - which follows Danity Kane, Day26 and Donnie on their headlining tour across the US:

This one looks like it'll be something else. Was that Ms. Boom Kack herself I saw there? LOL...

Season premiere is August 13th on MTV.

Will you be tuning in?

Donnie - 'Dr. Love' Viewer's of the most recent season MTV's 'Making The Band 4' will have seen that, unlike Danity Kane and Day26, Donnie did not have his album completed by the show's finale. However, with his LP now set for a summer release, new material from the set has surfaced - namely the full version of 'Dr. Love', a snippet of which was posted a few months back.

As much 'hit' potential as the track, which was produced by Seven, may have, I'm still yet to be sold on Donnie. I get a distinct 'I'm singing what has been dropped in front of me, without giving my own personal stamp' vibe from his material. Very contrived sounding. Still, I'll reserve my judgement until I hear more from the record.

Hit or Miss?

Yesterday night saw the airing of the Making The Band 4 season 2 finale. The two hour telecast boasted performances from the shows star's Danity Kane, Day 26 and Donnie. As well as performing Diddy made a 'special announcement' confirming that a new season of the show will be shot and will follow both the groups and Donnie on their North American tour. Check out the performances below:

Danity Kane - Damaged

Day26 - Got Me Going

Donny (ft. Diddy) - Take You There

I really enjoyed both Day26 and Danity Kane's performances, although the latter were kinda shaky vocally at times. Donnie, on the other hand, what was that? I'm starting to question Diddy's mindset when choosing him as a solo act, because the performance was wack - to put it simply. According to our friends over at Think2wice.org, who were in attendance at the taping, Donnie's performance was done not once, not twice, but three times over. Yet still the televised version was the pits. Anyway, usual...

What do you think of the performances ?

Will you be checking for the Making The Band tour?

Donnie - 'Take You There'As Making The Band 4 wraps up yet another season, many are probably wondering about the status of Donnie's project. After all, both of the groups - Danity Kane and Day26 - have released their albums this month. Word has it, Donnie's album will drop in August and will be lead by this new track titled 'Take You There'.

The song, which features Diddy, has a distinct funk feel to it. I'm really liking the production, the arrangements etc. A solid track, for sure. However, there is a problem; I don't 'believe' Donnie. Something about all of the material I've heard thus far sounds kinda forced/contrived. Whilst his Making The Band co-stars seem to have a stamp on their respective sounds, I get a 'sing whatever is given to me' vibe from Donnie. Perhaps, its due to the way he's been portrayed on the show so far, I don't know. Whatever the case, at this point, I'm thinking Diddy should have given one of the other group rejects a solo deal instead of Donnie. Time will tell if he proves the naysayers wrong...

Hit or Miss?

Donnie - 'Dr. Love'With the release of albums by Donnie's Making The Band 4 cast-mates drawing closer (Danity Kane - March 18th / Day26 -March 25th), many have been wondering what's going on with his project. Word has it the 23 year old will drop his debut LP sometime this summer, and he is still in the studio working on the record.

Meanwhile, a snippet of a track Donnie completed with producer 7even (Ashanti, Ja Rule etc) called 'Dr. Love' has surfaced. While the uptempo cut is pretty solid, it's makes it hard to not look at Donnie as a 'Diet Coke' version of Justin Timberlake. The song could easily have been placed on Justin's 'FutureSex/LoveSounds' record. Neither Donnie's material nor stint on the show has me amped for his album. He's gonna need to come a little less predictable than this.

Hit or Miss?

Donnie - Making The Band 4With new material from the Making The Band winners surfacing recently, it only seems apt for a taste of Donnie's offerings also. Donnie, if you remember, didn't make the final cut for the band last season, however was signed up by Diddy as a solo artist.

For the most part, I think 'So Beautiful' is a pretty solid (sounding) track. This mid-tempo production compliments Donnie's voice well. My only gripe is the song's lyrics, which range from pretty engaging to infantile and laced with cliche's. Still, it's promising.

Hit Or Miss?
